Going to Saint Louis!

On Saturday, June 28th, we left for a weekend in Saint Louis! We took so many pictures that I have to divide them into several different pages. This page has the pictures we took on Saturday!

Jane took this picture through the windshield on the way to St. Louis, showing the wide open Missouri road!

A picturesque bridge.

Crossing the Missouri River!

We passed lots of fields with plump, round hay bales.

Missouri is hillier than Kansas- this is considered the tail end of the Ozark mountain range.

Zury and Jane enjoy the warm (hot! hot!) sunshine at a rest stop.

We made it to the hotel okay! Lance unpacks stuff from the jeep.

We took this picture from the balcony of our hotel room at the Red Roof Inn.

The kids tell Jane she's not allowed to get comfortable at the hotel- we got stuff to do!

Our first glimpse of the Arch!

We parked at the river front and got ready to walk over to the Arch, which is a National Park.

Bridge over the Mississippi River. The river serves as the divide between the states of Missouri and Illinois.

The Arch is right by the river front.

This boat serves as a floating memorial.

Wow, what a view!

The arch is breathtakingly beautiful from any angle.

Jane, Seph, Tig, and Zury stand at the base of the Arch. It is made of stainless steel.

The wait to go up in the arch was very long on Saturday, and we were very tired, so we decided to check out the Museum of Western Expansion, which is located underneath the Arch, and to wait until another day to go up in the Arch. This picture was taken in the museum.

Buffalo exhibit.

We took a last look at the arch in the sunset before heading back to the hotel.
