Kansas
Outdoor Kids Day.
On September 6th, we participated in Kansas Outdoor Kids Day by presenting a critter demonstration to a group of about 60 children in LeRoy, KS!
Tig began the presentation by showing a toad we found when we got to the park. She talked to the kids about the importance of letting wild animals stay wild- put them back when you are done checking them out!
Next the kids got to meet the golden Greek tortoises. They learned about the differences between turtles and tortoises, as well as about where they come from and what they eat.
The tortoises explored around, while the kids checked out the tortoises!
Tig holds an albino hedgehog while Cindy, a librarian from LeRoy, shows kids Tig's book about hedgehogs.
Zury joins the other kids in Cindy's post-presentation quiz!
Jane helps one of the kids take a closer look.
A view of the park as we cleaned up and got ready to go!
