Easter Fun!

The Easter bunny came to visit our house!

Here are the baskets for Lance, Seph, Zury & Jane!

Jane's basket!

Seph and Zury go downstairs to see what the Easter bunny gave them!

"This one's mine and this one's yours!"

Seph and Zury check their baskets. The baskets that they have are the ones that Tig and her brother, Evan, used when they were kids!

Next, we took the kids for an Easter egg hunt at Paul's mom's farm in Colony, KS.

Lance explains about how to do an egg hunt.

Paul helps Seph find eggs.

"It's an egg, it's an egg!"

Boy, that Easter bunny sure hid a lot of eggs!

Jane & Lance help the kids spot the last of the eggs.

Seph & Zury show off all the eggs they found!

We had planned to have a picnic outside, but since it was really windy, we picnicked in the kitchen of Paul's mom's house.

After lunch, we went out to explore the farm. Seph, Zury & Jane stand in front of the pump house.

One of the old barns.

Paul shows the kids the old carriage that is housed in that barn.

The stone portion of this barn was built in approximately 1840 by Paul's ancestors. They paid the local Native Americans a chicken a day to bring the stones up from the river to build the barn. During the Civil War, US Cavalry troops used this barn as a meeting place. A new red metal roof was recently added.

This old sign was lying at the foot of the stone barn.

Jane checks out a very old but functional tractor.

Zury likes the tractor, too!

An old plow, abandoned by the field.

Jane checks out a bunch of old license plates in another old barn.

Tig sits on an old chair in the barn.

Tig and Lance.

Paul puts up some targets on an abandoned structure.

Jane gets to shoot a .22, while Lance acts as her earplugs!

Tig's turn to shoot.

Zury begins to learn about proper, respectful handling of guns.

Typical Kansas cow country, seen on the way home.

HAPPY EASTER!
